Hello!

I'm Melissa McCall, the founder of Moving Little Minds!  I have been in education for 20 years and have had a plethora of experiences in the field, including serving as an elementary school teacher, special education teacher, tutor, MTSS coordinator, and now preschool literacy teacher and literacy consultant. I am UNC- Chapel Hill graduate with a M.A. Ed. in Special Education from Western Carolina University.

As a parent of a child with dyslexia, I have seen the hardships that come along with learning to read.  I am a firm believer that we can do easy, engaging, research-based learning beginning at a very young age that can have a HUGE impact on the future of children.  Children are capable of amazing things.  I am passionate about opening the minds of preschool teachers and families about these amazing capabilities and how we can tap into them by merging instruction with play.  My experiences as a literacy enrichment teacher in local preschool classroom around Charlotte allow me to provide tried and true strategies that WORK to the teachers I train.

Our Mission

We believe that every child deserves a bright future, and this begins with a strong foundation in early literacy skills.  At Moving Little Minds, we are dedicated to providing high quality training and resources to preschool teachers.  By doing so, we are spreading our mission of ensuring that every child has a strong foundation to flourish.   By training teachers in ways to merging research-based instruction with play, we ensure that children are reaching their full potential and embark on their educational journey well-prepared for the future! Let's build those KEY emergent literacy skills together.

Our Promise

ALL children have a right to literacy. Education is power, and we are dedicated to sharing the importance of early literacy through educating, advocacy and volunteering our time and resources to charities that support this cause.

We believe that preschool learning should be: FUN, ENGAGING, & INTENTIONAL!
